The next fashion on a budget challenge awaits!

Hi, For those of you who love a fashion challenge and are on a budget welcome to my blog. In my previous posts I gave myself a total of £125 and with that I was to purchase my summer wardrobe. I called it quite aptly The Summer Challenge. I manage to do the task (quite easily, I may add) and bring it in under budget by £1! It may not sound much but it soon adds up. If you read my post entitled: 11 items for successful summer dressing! you will see exactly what I purchased. Now I am going to set myself up for the next challenge. That challenge will be to see what I can purchase for my Autumn wardrobe. However, the budget this time will be £250. I am using this figure as between now and then, i.e towards the end of September, I should be able to save that amount. In the meantime, I shall use my recently purchased summer haul and stuff that I have already have to see me through the summer season. I shall keep you posted.

11 items for successful summer dressing for you fashionistas out there!

Hi, I am down to my last £14 and I have been on the ASOS website and found a couple of items to spend this on. I have decided to go with accessories for the last leg of my summer challenge. The first being an ASOS lightning Bolt Zip Top Clutch bag. It was originally £18 but has been reduced by half to £9. http://bit.ly/1NwmjnX. The next and final item is a leather look purse reduced from £10 to £4 http://bit.ly/1KscRUH. This brings my grand total to £124! so I am £1 under budget! Yeah! Anyway here is a recap of what I purchased with that £124. 1. A striped t-shirt from H&M for £4 http://bit.ly/1GFGxtr 2. A pair of skinny jeans, also from H&M for £12 http://bit.ly/1BzoohT 3. A pair of leopard print trainers. They too were from H&M and were £5 http://bit.ly/1GFHwtN 4. A classic black sleeveless top with metal straps for £8 http://bit.ly/1NbPHj9, and yes they are from H&M. 5. A pair of light grey suede heels reduced from £39.99 to £20 http://bit.ly/1BMWpM0. From H&M. 6. A red Abbey Clancy maxi dress for £40 http://bit.ly/1g1iJHI. This came from her collection at Matalan. 7. A pair of black killer heels that cost £15 http://bit.ly/1ee9K50. Those too came from Matalan. 8. A pair of red flip flops from Poundland that cost, you guessed it, a £1 http://bit.ly/1eg2RQy 9. A white cami top for £3 http://bit.ly/1C4bzN7 from New Look. Add to that the clutch and the purse from ASOS and you have my total summer haul. Roll on the next challenge.

How to get to the finish line in style!

I am down to my last £18 and I am determined to make that stretch as far as I can. So far out of my £125 budget for my summer wardrobe I have bought the following: A striped t-shirt from H&M for £4 http://bit.ly/1GFGxtr, A pair of skinny jeans for £12 http://bit.ly/1BzoohT and a pair of leopard print trainers for £5 http://bit.ly/1GFHwtN. Staying with H&M I bought a couple more items. One was a black sleeveless top that cost £8 http://bit.ly/1NbPHj9 the other was a pair of grey suede heels that had been reduced from £39.99 to £20 http://bit.ly/1BMWpM0. Nipping over to Matalan, I got the following: a red maxi dress by Abby Clancy, which was absolutely gorgeous! for £40 http://bit.ly/1g1iJHI. I teamed that up with a pair of black killer heels that cost £15 http://bit.ly/1ee9K50. With my remaining £18 I want to get a few basics that can be worn with the items that I have already got. To start with I have seen a pair of red flip-flops with sequins that cost £1 from Poundland http://bit.ly/1eg2RQy. These can be worn with the jeans from H&M and with the red maxi dress just to give it a bit of an edge. From New Look I have spied a white cami top for £3 http://bit.ly/1C4bzN7, which could go with the skinny jeans and the red flip flops. This makes this present haul a grand total of £4! which leaves me £14. I am going to see what else is out there so that I can make my final purchases! I am almost at the finishing line!

Abbey Clancy's red maxi dress from Matalan, an absolute must!

Ok, I have £73 left in the kitty and I have just been browsing the Matalan website and bingo! I've seen the dress for me! It's a red Abbey Clancy maxi dress for £40 http://bit.ly/1g1iJHI. It is absolutely beautiful. Something like this would normally be over my budget but in this instance it's a knockout dress and definitely worth the investment.I am going to pair this up with a killer of heels which are also from Matalan and cost £15 http://bit.ly/1ee9K50. That little haul comes to £55 which leaves me with £18 left in my summer budget. Watch this space.

A funky evening combo for the budget fashionista!

Following on from yesterday's outfit combination, which I felt had a funky urban vibe. I am looking at adding an element of glamour to it so that the staple piece, the jeans, can be teamed up with a classic black sleeveless top http://bit.ly/1NbPHj9 but it has a twist. It has metal straps which give it a bit of an edge. It is in the H&M sale and has been reduced to £8. A bit of a bargain, I feel. This outfit can be further teamed up with a classic pair of light grey suede heels http://bit.ly/1BMWpM0 which have been reduced from £39.99 to £20. Yesterday I had £101 left. Take off what I have spent in today's haul i.e £28 I have now £73 left from my budget. Watch this space for more shopping fun my fellow budget fashionistas!

The 5 step Summer Challenge!

I am a single mum of one with a passion for fashion. Unfortunately due to my single mum status I have to do this on a budget! Being quite frugal by nature ,my skills for seeking out a bargain are finely tuned! I aim to get my summer capsule wardrobe in 5 hits! At the moment, I am checking out a few bits and pieces for the summer. I have given myself the challenge of trying to get what I need for under £125. So far I have found a couple of pieces from one of my favourite stores, H&M to start me off! Firstly there is a great striped t-shirt online for sale at £4 http://bit.ly/1GFGxtr a pair of skinny jeans for £12 http://bit.ly/1BzoohT and a pair of leopard print trainers for £5 http://bit.ly/1GFHwtN. Together, I think this combination is quite quirky and funky and for £21 it's a steal of an outfit! £21 down and £101 to go!
